AI tools may assist the production workflow. They are not treated as authoritative sources, legal reviewers, or autonomous publishers.
Permitted assistance
AI may help organize research plans, identify questions for verification, structure drafts, compare versions, improve clarity, prepare metadata, support transcription, or generate production alternatives.
Mandatory controls
- Sources and quotations must be inspected and verified independently of an AI answer.
- AI-generated citations, statistics, motives, events, and quotations are never accepted without verification.
- Material claims receive human review before publication.
- Final wording, uncertainty, legal-safety decisions, rights decisions, and publication approval remain human responsibilities.
- Material synthetic media or other AI use that could affect a reasonable reader’s interpretation should be disclosed in context.
Accountability
The publication remains responsible for what it publishes. “The AI said so” is not an evidence standard and is not a correction defense.
